Why Beatlessweden.com?

We are two friends that has many things in common. One thing is that we both enjoy having fun! Tabbe loves Beatles and Marcus loves technology. So why not bring these two items together?

Tabbe has for many years had a dream of building a community about Beatles on the Internet. Marcus wants to learn more about some different technologies for building communities. So in this way, Tabbe gets a dream fulfilled and Marcus gets content to work with to learn more about systems like this.

Another thing that has to be mentioned here is that the aim is not to replace any other Beatles community or tribute web site about them. We also don't think that our site is better than any other site. To be absolutely clear about our opinion, we encourage more people to create web sites, sharing their thoughts and knowledge about Beatles.

The technology behind the scenes

We use a system called Xoops to build our site. This is an excellent platform to use and to grow with. But there is always situations where a system is not perfect, therefore we constantly are following the development of the system and make our own addendums and changes where it's necessary. This also means that we make changes to the code to fulfill all our requirements. This should not be considered as back draws of Xoops. Xoops gives is the possibility to use a well defined framework which of course lets us customize many aspects of the look, feel and usage of the system.

Costs and profit

Because we do this just for fun, we do not earn any money doing this. Of course we have some costs already and it might rise during the time because of activities we might run into... So if there is anybody willing to sponsor us or if there is companies that think that we can help them, it's worth contacting us. We cannot say that we do not want to get paid for doing this, but it was not the goal when starting this project.

The logotype

The logotype idea came from Marcus who did a sketch in PowerPoint. The final design was made and rendered by Henrik Gustavsson. Henrik is an excellent engineer and enjoy working in 3D. We appreciate his help very much with the logo and some graphical elements on our site!

Heavy work

One should never underestimate the time, competence and effort that it takes to create and maintain a community like this. We are two individuals that work well together because we usually not interfere with each others work. Tabbe is responsible for the content and Marcus is responsible for the technical things. But we feel both responsible for giving you a good and well working community web site. And please remember, we are doing this because it's fun!
